Short film review: Skinhead Requiem (July 31, 2013) by David Ollerton

Skinhead Requiem, a compelling and intense short film by Jason Victor Everett, has a simple set up: a priest (Tom Noonan) is visiting a skinhead (played by writer director Everett) on Death Row – the final visit before his execution.  The priest proceeds to tell an anecdote from his childhood, and the skinhead replies with one of his own.  From this simple set up, a compelling short film has been created, owing a lot to Tom Noonan’s magnetic performance.  Each considered pause as he relates his story is a moment that builds the sombre intensity of the film, highlighting the understated drama. read more
